One of the comics I'm working on is a post-apocolyptic action thing. I'm also trying to create a 'conceptual design' portfolio in order to hopefully pick up some more work. Anyway, i've combined the two efforts, since the comic needs a substation amount of design-work, and come up with this here hover-craft. It's driven by mutants, who are basically tumor-ridden idiots, with mush-for-brains. They're used as thugs by unscroupulous types and are essentially disposable humanity. I figured those types of people might not care too much about safety, so their rides should look dangerous and sort of thrown together. Anyway, I haven't posted here in a while, so I thought I'd toss this out into the ether :)

Here's the mutie-scooter

Looks pretty schweet. I like how the contour of the thing was defined by painting over it with the white of the background. That's always a cool looking technique.

Yeah, I really like using photoshop for this sort of thing, because it's so easy to work both additively and subtractively. I find it especially good for conceptual stuff, because I find it best to start from a silhouette, finding an interesting shape first, then filling in the details.

That's really interesting -- I didn't even notice how the contour was done until reading your comment. I usually just look at things and wonder, "how the hell was that done?". Sometimes it's really hard to distinguish between a digital painting and an acrylic one, for example. I kinda like that.
MAYBE you could post some more images for us...
